If you can believe it, the 2019-2020 Academy year has come to a close! This year, despite the global pandemic, still proved to be a successful one in the gym (end eventually the “home gym”) as athletes continued to develop their physical literacy, fundamental movement skills, lifting technique, and knowledge of nutrition for performance. We saw the results of their efforts carry onto the course with some outstanding golf this season, at all levels! One of the most rewarding aspects about reflecting back on the prior year is to recognize where many of our athletes started and how far they have come in such a short period of time. It’s not uncommon for athletes (again, of all levels) to lack more formal experience in the gym when they first arrive to GPC, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing athletes come into the Performance Zone and gain confidence and understanding of their strengths and weaknesses over the course of the year.

The one factor that continues to be found in those achieving the most improvement is consistency. This was tested in all of us even more than normal as COVID-19 forced our hands into less than ideal circumstances. Bringing a consistently strong work ethic and avoiding long bouts of time without training will make a world of difference in your results in your golf game. Developing a passion for training your body physically, as well as nutritionally, to perform at a high level will stay with you and continue to provide a benefit for years to come. Congratulations to all our Academy Members on another great year in the gym! Kyle and I look forward to helping you set the bar even higher for 2020-2021!
