The golf season may be winding down, but this is where real improvement starts. The offseason is the best time of year to take your clubs out, get to work, and prepare for next season the right way. No pressure to score—just time to build and work!
If you want to play better next year, this is when it happens.
Start With a Plan
First question: how did your season actually go?
Did you reach your goals? What improved—and what didn’t? Do you have a plan moving forward, or are you hoping things just get better?
Now is the time to reflect and do something about it.
At GPC, we recommend starting with a 5 Elements of Success Evaluation paired with a Coach-Guided Assessment. This gives you a clear, measurable baseline—both physically and on the golf side.
What gets measured, can be improved.
These evaluations show exactly where you are today and what will move the needle the fastest. From there, goals become clear and realistic:
- Make 10% more putts inside 10 feet
- Drop your handicap by 5 points
- Hit 20% more fairways and greens
The offseason is ideal for:
- Building more strength physically which can lead to more clubhead speed
- Building mobility and stability to stay healthy and play longer
- Improving weaknesses and maintaining/continuing strengths from stats in 2025
Example Week
Examples of a week – 1 hour a day of dedicated practice can lead to some major differences. Incremental gains lead to exponential results! 1% better everyday.

80% of structured block practice and 20% random practice is the best way to improve your game every winter.
Offseason Is Also Equipment Season
This is the best time to evaluate your gear—without the pressure of playing.
Example questions:
- Which clubs actually performed?
- Were there any noticeable yardage gaps?
- Was there a problem distance—190 to 210 yards?
- How were the wedges this year?
- How’s the putter?
This is the time to test and try new equipment to see if there can be improvements made. This is also the final chance to take advantage of our end-of-season equipment sales! Stop by GPC Custom Clubs and we can help lead you in the right direction.
