With the launch of TaylorMade’s new P Series irons & TW Wedges, the golf club industry is buzzing with excitement. The new P Series includes the P770, P7MC & P7MB. TaylorMade used feedback from the game’s best ball strikers and both the P7MC and P7MB use a brand new process called Compact Grain Forging that involves a 2,000-ton forging press to ensure that each iron is formed with precision and a tighter grain structure to provide the most solid, consistent feel possible. This forging press provides additional force that refines the microstructure, decreasing the grain size which improves the overall properties of the metal. This high pressure forging process produces a head that is much closer to the final shape, requiring less hand polishing for a more consistent, precise shaping. The P7MC has a classic shape with minimal offset and replaces the P750 popular among many players on professional tours worldwide, including Matthew Wolff and Jon Rahm. The muscle cavity design delivers control and precision, while perimeter weighting provides just the right amount of forgiveness. Engineers moved mass up behind the face to support the point of impact when creating the new backbar geometry designed to elevate feel. The P7MB is a classic muscleback design with a traditional thin top line, narrow sole and minimal offset, even less offset than its predecessor, the P730 iron. It is forged from 1025 carbon steel with a machine-milled face comprised of the most aggressive score lines in any TaylorMade iron for the ultimate in shot making and control. These new irons are as pretty as they are effective and we are looking forward to testing them here at GPC Custom Clubs!
