New Year New Clubs
The PGA Show is coming up in a couple of weeks! This is an annual golf trade event for professionals and golf enthusiasts. It’s a great place to network, see the latest equipment from different vendors, check out new technology, and explore other golf services. Over the past couple of years attending the PGA Show, we’ve seen some gadgets and equipment that help with feedback and improvement in a golfer’s game, while others are just novelties. With that said, I would imagine the goal for major brand companies, such as Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, and Titleist, is to make their new equipment better than last year’s or the previous generation’s offerings.
As we’ve said before here at Custom Clubs, it’s more important to get fitted into the right equipment rather than constantly searching for and buying new gear. Sure, new equipment is exciting, but is it always better than your current fitted equipment? Not always. We recommend investing the time and money in a fitting to get dialed in before heading into the new season.
Here are some manufacturers that are coming out with new equipment this year, either with entirely new wood lines or irons:
- Taylormade Golf is releasing a new driver, wood, and hybrid line, along with updated P790’s. The sound is great, and the performance is just as good, if not better, than last year’s Qi10. Let’s see how it performs throughout the rest of the season! Qi35 – Taylormade Golf
- Callaway Golf is introducing a new driver, wood, and hybrid line, along with the new Elyte irons. Performance and forgiveness are the areas we believe have been further improved compared to last year’s Paradym Ai Smoke, which was our number one selling driver here at Custom Clubs Shop. This new release could be even better! Elyte – Callaway Golf
- Mizuno’s irons are new this year with the JPX line. Knowing Mizuno and their reputation, these new irons should not disappoint. There are options for everyone, from beginners to elite and advanced players. JPX925 – Mizuno Golf
- Ping Golf is unveiling the entire G440 line, which includes drivers, woods, hybrids, and irons. Although it hasn’t hit the Ping website yet, it is featured on several other sites, such as GolfWrx (linked below). Ping has been a main fixture in our shop, and their products speak for themselves. They have more engineers working on improving their golf equipment than their marketing team, which speaks volumes about their true focus. Ping G440 – GolfWrx Website.
