If you’re considering working with the GPC for a Full Swing Fitting, here are answers to commonly asked questions and a few benefits to consider when deciding if the golf club fitting experience is right for you.

1. Why Should I Get Fitted for Golf Clubs?

Golf clubs are specifically engineered to match the strengths and weaknesses of different kinds of plates. Even a line of drivers from the exact same brand are created to fit the performance of various golfers. Some are lighter weight, some have a draw bias and others are created with different handicaps in mind to deliver on certain qualities, from greater ball speed to forgiveness.
You might already have a general idea of what you’re looking for in a golf club, whether it’s something to match your handicap or something to correct a swing tendency, like a slice. But even if you have a general understanding of what to look for in a club, an expert golf fitter can dive in deep and analyze your performance beyond this basic level.
With the Full Swing Fitting, technology and evaluations are used to account for things like your swing tempo, your backswing and downswing, peak grip speed and time from impact. These are all carefully calculated with world-class technology and all aspects of your swing that you’d never know from just a naked eye evaluation. By breaking down your swing to its most basic components, you’re getting a recommendation that couldn’t be more personalized to your unique swing.

2. How Often Should I Get Fit for New Clubs?

It’s commonly advised to replace your golf clubs every five years, but the truth of the matter is this isn’t going to be the right approach for everyone. There are two ways to evaluate whether you should pursue a fitting for golf clubs.
The first step is to examine the current state of your golf clubs. Some clubs get worn down faster than others depending on how frequently you use them and how hard you swing. If this applies to you, then it’s time to get new clubs. Being custom fitted for clubs is a great way to ensure you’re getting the right ones recommended to you by experts golf fitters.
Another factor to consider is whether you’re happy with the performance of your current clubs. If you feel that your golf clubs aren’t doing you any favors or are actively getting in the way of you performing at your best, then you may find that fitted golf clubs dramatically improve your game.
Anyone wondering “Should I get fitted for golf clubs?” should take the time to consider the current state of their clubs and whether they think their performance could benefit from being fitted for golf clubs. In most cases, the answer is a resounding yes.

3. Which Golf Clubs Can I Be Fitted for?

At the GPC, the Full Swing Fitting is our answer to players looking to get fitted for all the golf clubs they need for their long game: driver, fairway woods, hybrids and irons. With world-class technology and a range of options from premium brands, this is the experience for someone who wants a personalized, in-depth approach to selecting the golf clubs in their bag.
If you’re also looking to be fitted for a putter, you have the option of pursuing a putter fitting or doing the Full Day Fitting, which includes fitting golf clubs for all those in the Full Swing plus wedges and putters.

4. What Technology or Methods Are Used to Fit Each Player?

During a Full Swing Fitting, our golf fitters follow our signature golf club fitting process, starting with an evaluation of current equipment, followed by an analysis with high-end technology in our indoor golf facility and a green grass evaluation on our golf course.
The technology used in the custom fitted golf clubs evaluation are TrackMan radar club and ball tracking technology, GEARS 3D Motion Capture System and the Foresight GC Quad camera-based launch monitor.

5. Where Does the Fitting Experience Take Place?

The Full Swing Fitting takes place in a number of locations onsite at the GPC, including the custom build shop and in our indoor golf facility, driving range and our green grass golf course. Our golf fitters want to see how you perform with these golf clubs in a variety of settings, and you get the opportunity to see as well.
Especially for a driver fitting, it’s essential to try your hand at using different drivers and finding if you’re getting the feedback and results you’re looking for depending on the clubhead, loft, shaft and more.
Fitted golf clubs that have been personally recommended to you for your unique playing style by an expert golf fitter will impact your performance like you never even imagined.
Plus, there’s a lot to be said for gaining new insight into your game from these evaluations. Maybe you never realized that you typically hit the ball off-center of the clubhead or maybe you’ve never seen your golf swing in slow motion. These insights will give you a whole new perspective on how you play golf, and how to play better.
